Mac’s Wine-Walk Anniversary

Over 15,000 Wine Lovers Have Experienced the Wine Walk Since Last Year’s Launch

Last May, the city of McMinnville, Oregon launched their Wine Walk Passport, a way for visitors to explore McMinnville’s 20 walkable craft beverage producers year-round. Per Visit McMinnville, the City of McMinnville’s official tourism board, over 15,000 visitors have experienced the wine walk since the 2016 inauguration.

Wine lovers can pick up copies of the passport at any participating stops along the wine walk or can download the Wine Walk smartphone app on both iPhone and Android phones, making it even easier to gain access to pertinent information such as hours, location, and tasting notes from each craft beverage producer featured along the Wine Walk. Visitors are also able to keep track of their passport stamps through the app, which are redeemable upon completion of the walk for various prizes.

The passport highlights 20 wine tasting rooms, with five additional “Craft Beverage Bonus Stops” breweries and distilleries along the way.

Noteworthy stops along the Wine Walk include:

“We hear all the time how much fun it is to spend a day or a weekend in the heart of Oregon wine country,” said Jeff Knapp, Executive Director of Visit McMinnville. “With the Wine Walk passport or app, visitors to McMinnville can taste wine, beer, and spirits all while strolling and savoring the charm of historic downtown McMinnville and earn prizes along the way.  They love it!”

Known as the “Heart of Oregon Wine Country,” McMinnville is world famous for both its viticulture and artisan dining experiences. McMinnville makes a great family-friendly getaway also, from exploring the Spruce Goose at the Evergreen Air Museum to tubing down a waterslide coming out of a 747 jumbo jet at the museum’s water park.
